Excalibur Teaching Schools Alliance

About Excalibur TSA

Excalibur Teaching School Alliance was awarded National Teaching School status by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) in April 2016.
Excalibur TSA is based at and led by St John’s Marlborough, and has a second hub at Fairfield High School in Bristol.

The alliance shares expertise from across a partnership of primary and secondary schools in Bristol, Berkshire and around Wiltshire. It provides school to school support, CPD and professional development courses and works with Bath Spa University and Bristol University (through the Bristol hub) to develop and deliver cutting-edge primary and secondary School Direct ITT programmes.

Excalibur TSA Mission Statement

The Excalibur Teaching School Alliance will be recognised as a leading centre of excellence, whose fundamental aim will be to create a professional community that ensures all of the students and staff within its Schools, Alliance Partners and beyond, succeed – without exception.

The outcomes from the Alliance will be defined by the sustained improvement of results for all students, the delivery of exceptional professional development opportunities designed to meet the needs of staff and the extension of Excalibur Academies Trust’s outstanding learning culture to incorporate the development of future inspirational teachers. This will be achieved by developing, co-ordinating and utilising expertise and talent from within Excalibur’s network of Alliance Schools.
