John O’Gaunt School
At John O’Gaunt we believe our role is to ‘inspire’ our students and make them ‘believe’ anything is possible. With our ‘support’ they will ‘achieve’ great things.
Whilst academic success is vitally important for all our students to help enhance their life chances in the future, we believe that school is also about nurturing confident young learners who are resilient, tolerant of others, proud of their own achievements, and determined to be the best they possibly can be. Our dedicated teaching and support staff work tirelessly to help make this happen.
We understand that young people learn in a variety of ways and at different paces and our broad and balanced curriculum supports all students to succeed to the best of their ability. Our students are encouraged to unlock their potential in all subjects and we challenge them to expand their skills and understanding from the very first day.
Learning at John O’Gaunt is innovative, challenging and lively. Lessons are taught with expertise to address the needs of the individual. Our students are enthusiastic and motivated; they maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement in their studies. Our curriculum structure is organised to ensure that all students work at a pace that challenges them.
As they move through the school, our students are supported and guided towards selecting the most appropriate route of study based on their aptitude, interest and motivation.
Students who find learning more challenging are supported with specialist intervention programmes and specially designed courses. We track the progress of all our students regularly and foster strong partnerships with parents.
John O’Gaunt School is hugely excited about our partnership with Excalibur Academies Trust. Working alongside such high achieving primary and secondary schools can only help us build on our great successes and enable us to provide a world class education for all our students. Our link with Excalibur will also allow any John O’Gaunt student to continue their A Level education at the outstanding St John’s Marlborough.
