Excalibur awarded MAT of the Year in National Read-Aloud Challenge

Excalibur is immensely proud to be awarded MAT of the Year in the National Read-Aloud Challenge, despite an impressive 550 schools and 10,000 children taking part. Special recognition goes to Ogbourne CofE Primary School for winning in the Small School category and Lamboun CofE Primary School for achieving second place across the South East.

Excalibur Academies Trust welcomes new CEO

Excalibur Academies Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of its new CEO – Nick Lewis, who took up his new position from September.

Nick is no stranger to education in Bristol, having grown up in the city. He has previously successfully led Fairfield High School as Principal before taking up his most recent role in Excalibur as Director of Secondary Improvement. Prior to that he took the role of Interim CEO of Gatehouse Green Learning Trust in the critical year leading to a merger with Excalibur Academies Trust in September 2023, growing Excalibur into a family of 20 academies (and 10,000 young people).
