A shared success: Excalibur celebrates exceptional GCSE success across its secondary schools

Excalibur Academies Trust is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of students across all six of its secondary schools following the release of this year’s GCSE and BTEC results. These outcomes reflect the hard work, ambition and perseverance of students, as well as the unwavering commitment of staff and families who have supported them.

At Redland Green School (Bristol), students are celebrating an exceptional year of academic success. The Class of 2025 has demonstrated not only outstanding performance in their GCSE and BTEC examinations but also a deep commitment to personal growth and community values.

Ben Houghton, Headteacher of Redland Green School comments: “These results represent far more than exam outcomes – they are the product of resilience, kindness, ambition, and community. They show what can be achieved when young people, staff, and parents work in partnership with a shared sense of purpose. This year group are not only successful, but also caring, thoughtful, and principled – they truly represent the best of RGS. We are immensely proud of them all.”

The Wren is equally thrilled to report another year of strong outcomes. Staff and students alike are celebrating the consistent year-on-year improvements in results across all subjects.

John Salberg, Principal of The Wren comments: “Today is about them – our students, their efforts, and their successes. We are delighted with their performances, and this is what we are celebrating. Not just the excellent grades they’ve achieved, but the inspirational individuals standing before us. We could not be prouder of them, and they truly deserve our praise.”

At Ashton Park School, students have achieved fantastic results, marking a significant milestone in the school’s academic journey.

“We are absolutely overjoyed with this year’s results,” said Richard Uffendell, Headteacher of Ashton Park School: “This cohort and their families faced significant challenges during the 2019 pandemic, and they have shown remarkable determination to achieve these fabulous outcomes.”

In addition, Fairfield High School reported a strong set of GCSE results, with students displaying outstanding aspiration, talent and resilience.

Edel Cronin, Principal of Fairfield High School comments: “We are extremely proud of our Year 11s, who leave us with a deep sense of personal achievement and a solid foundation on which to build their future. Days like today highlight the togetherness of our school community, as well as our continuous commitment to fostering and maintaining close relationships with every individual.”

Fairfield also highlighted the value of parental engagement through initiatives such as celebration assemblies and community events, which have played a key role in supporting student success.

Finally, students at John O’Gaunt School collected their exam results with many smiles and success stories. Students exceeded expectations and there has been a clear improvement in overall progress across the school.

Richard Hawthorne, John O’Gaunt’s Principal said: “I am extremely proud of our students, who have proven once again that when you work hard, you can achieve great things. A number of students achieved grades at the top end of the scale putting them among the very best in the country. Many more made exceptional progress against their starting points and some overcame personal challenges to achieve success. I commend the courage and determination of all our students.”
