Lambourn Primary’s Y6 students take to the stage at The Watermill Theatre

Year 6 students at Lambourn C of E Primary School are taking part in The Watermill Schools Federation Project – The Watermill Theatre Newbury this year; the first time that the school have had this marvellous opportunity.

The process

Over the course of five weeks, a full creative team will work with the students rehearsing a production, which will then be performed for three nights on the main stage at The Watermill. The Watermill reports that the young people have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience and teachers have commented on the positive impact of the project.

Performance

The children will perform on the following evenings:

Wednesday 21 June – 7.30pm

Thursday 22 June – 7.30pm

Friday 23 June – 7.30pm

Technical Rehearsals & Costumes

On Monday 19, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 June, the young people will be fully immersed with the theatre experience, as they attend technical and dress rehearsals; certainly a welcome treat after finishing SATS. It will be during these rehearsals that the children will be fitted with costumes.

Thank you

A big thank you to The Watermill Theatre for offering this opportunity, which it recognises as being important to nurture the young people in the community. Not only will it increase self confidence and support personal development, but it will prove particularly important as students transition into secondary school.

A limited number of tickets will be made available shortly, keep an eye on The Watermill Theatre’s website.
