Odd Socks Day for Anti-Bullying Week celebrated across the Trust
The Excalibur family collectively recognised the importance of Anti-Bullying Week, with Anti-Bullying Alliance’s theme ‘Make A Noise about Bullying’ being commemorated throughout the Trust. The week was kicked off with Odd Socks Day, with adults, children and even pets wearing odd socks to celebrate what makes everyone unique.
‘Make A Noise’ was chosen as a strong theme designed to empower everyone to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.
Following the success of the campaign in 2022, when 80% of schools marked the week and it reached over 7.5 million children and young people, this week’s campaign hopes to reach even further.
Corinne Breingan, Head of Communications for Excalibur Academies Trust comments: “It’s heart warming to see so many of our young people across the Trust making an effort to stamp out bullying once and for all, with Odd Socks Day being a representative, fun and easy way to show support. We especially liked the fact our pets joined in this year, what a lovely touch!”
