Burbage Primary School’s Latest Addition

It is a busy time for Burbage Primary School. Firstly, the school is delighted to announce its latest addition – a duckling! Born at 10.10am on Wednesday 20th April 2016, followed after lunch by a second. The children in Chaffinch and Woodpecker classes are thrilled with the science unfolding before their eyes.

ducklingThank you to everyone who supported the Easter Produce Fair in March. The school raised a fantastic £200 and everyone enjoyed the Hot Cross Buns and Produce Raffles. The table displays were spectacular!

Years 5 and 6 recently attended a Tri-Golf tournament. They learned quickly and enjoyed the experience. (We may have some contenders for Danny Willett’s reign on The Masters!) The class was also singled-out for their excellent learning strategies and team work.

Key Stage One had an inspiring visit from local author Sarah Hill (Whimsy Wood series). Her enthusiasm for writing rubbed off on the children, generating lots of magical ideas.

A full day of First Aid, led by St John Ambulance, taught life-saving to the majority of KS2; a brilliant life skill, enjoyed by all.

Now, as part of our Growing Schools focus, the school is eagerly awaiting the arrival of its ‘Space Seeds’ and duck eggs. Do keep an eye on Burbage Primary School’s new website blog for updates.

As well developing the way it uses its school grounds for growing, it is growing in numbers too. From 122 in October, the school will have 134 children on roll which is a big jump from111 just over a year ago. It warmly welcomes all of its new families and encourages visits to school, especially for those interested in joining in Reception or Key Stage One for September. Please call 01672 810452.
