Easton Royal Academy is celebrating an outstanding achievement after being crowned South West regional winners of the National Read Aloud Challenge, organised by Fonetti.
Staff and pupils from the school were invited to a high-profile awards ceremony at Amazon Headquarters in London, marking a memorable day of celebration and recognition. The prestigious award was presented by Clare Balding, the renowned presenter and commentator, with attendees also inspired by keynote speeches from Louise Hill, founder of GoHenry, and Olympic gold medallist Morgan Bolding.

The event brought together schools and education innovators from across the country, providing an invaluable opportunity to connect, share ideas and celebrate excellence in literacy. Judges and organisers noted that it was particularly impressive for a school of Easton Royal Academy’s size to achieve such a significant national accolade.
The day proved to be an exciting and confidence-building experience for pupils, who were launched straight into filmed media interviews upon arriving in London. They spoke with knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm about their love of reading and how it has been nurtured and inspired between home and school—making staff and families immensely proud.
Beck Stubbs, Principal of Easton Royal Academy comments: “We are very proud of our pupils for this fantastic achievement. Their enthusiasm for reading, combined with the dedication of our staff and support of families, has shone through. Winning this award on a national stage highlights the power of a strong reading culture and the confidence it builds in young learners.”
