Easton Royal Academy honoured to be awarded Music Mark

Easton Royal Academy (ERA) is honoured to be awarded the Music Mark, as recognition that it goes ‘above and beyond’ for children’s music education. All children receive an hour of curriculum music each week; it is a ‘sing-up’ school which means it is committed to singing every day, it has an accomplished djembe drumming group and also offers two years of free trumpet tuition to every child at school.

Beck Stubbs, Principal at Easton Royal Academy comments: “Our vision at ERA is ‘Excellence & Adventure’. To us, ‘adventure’ is about stepping out of your comfort zone into the exciting and unknown, trying new things and finding out who you are. We strive to give children lots of opportunities to experience listening to, composing and performing music so they can uncover their talents. We know that music can be a wonderful bedrock for good mental health and can also lead to improved learning and academic performance. For this reason, we are delighted to have given the award.”

ERA looks forward to continuing to build upon this important educational and creative journey, by supporting its children to engage with music opportunities both within school and outside in the wider community.
