Masked Singers wow at St John's Marlborough
Fifteen St John’s Marlborough students took to the stage in the St John’s Theatre on 29th February for a fantastic version of The Masked Singer.
The show was packed with good vibes and performances from our talented singers in a range of disguises; Panda Bear, Fleur, Baby Shark, Smiley, Fluttery, Flame, Bouncer, Punk Panda, Marty Martian, Bubbafly, Goldilocks, Miss Piggy, Phantom, Ker-Ching and Shelley.
The performances were judged by an enthusiastic panel made up of St John’s teachers Miss McNeill, Mrs McDonnell and Mrs Wilson in front of a large audience, and at the end of the evening the singers were unmasked and the winner crowned.
Congratulations to:
1st place was Emila Houchin as Ker-Ching singing Price Tag
2nd place was Rosie-Monroe Baverstock as Miss Piggy singing Good Morning Baltimore
3rd place was Molly Abraham as Baby Shark singing Upside Down
Drama teachers Miss Kirby and Miss Sutton organised the show. Miss Kirby said “What a fun night! Thank you so much to all the students that took part, and also to the students who made up our fabulous technical crew, and, of course to the amazing audience. All the money raised from ticket sales will go to support the Drama department, so thank you to everyone who supported the show”
Rosie-Monroe Baverstock said: “Taking part in the Masked singer has been the highlight of my school year so far. I am currently in year 7 and was a little nervous to put myself out there but everyone was so kind and supportive towards me. I am so lucky to be at a school where the teachers and students put so much effort into events like this, it was incredible and I want to do it all again!”
Molly Abraham said “This was such a fun experience!! The whole cast was amazing and so supportive and kind, if I could repeat the whole show right now I definitely would!”
